Marilyn Baarman Meech

Heaven gained the lovely soul of Marilyn Baarman Meech on August 5, 2016 when she was relieved of suffering and gracefully finished her long and wonderful life.

Marilyn was born April 11, 1936 to John & Minnie Vruggink, living all her life in the Holland/Zeeland area.

By age 24, Marilyn fell in love and married William (Bill) Baarman. Bill passed away 34yrs. later. Shortly after, Marilyn became involved in a Hospice support group, where she met and fell in love again with her current husband Robert C. Meech. Robert and Marilyn married January 1997. Together, they enjoyed 19 years of friends/family, gardening, playing Bridge and many winters in Jekyll Island, GA.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her first husband; William (Bill) Baarman, and brothers; Eugene Vruggink and Harv Vruggink.

Marilyn has one surviving sibling; Carrie Grasman, and two sister-in-laws; Jane Vruggink and Bev Vruggink.

Marilyn is also survived by her husband; Robert C. Meech, son; Chad (Ann) Baarman and step-daughters; Mary Barbara (John) Horton, Nancy Sieg Pierre, two grand-children; Elizabeth Baarman and Taylor Baarman, four step-grandchildren; Tyler Patterson, Kyle Patterson, Vanessa Horton, David (Amy) Sieg, and great step-granddaughter; Genevieve Sieg.

Marilyn was very cherished, will be greatly missed and eternally loved by all of us.

A Celebration of Life Open House will be held at Macatawa Legends Golf and Country Club (4600 Macatawa Legends Blvd., Holland) on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 4:00-6:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Hospice of Holland.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel.
