OBITUARY MARIE O’DONNELL

Marie G. O’Donnell-Wunderlin, 84 of Kalamazoo Michigan passed away peacefully Friday March 10, 2017. She was a resident of Kalamazoo for 59 years, having moved from Bayonne New Jersey. She was born September 30, 1934.

Marie was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Francis and Marie(Stritch) O’Donnell. She was the oldest of four children: Bernadette, Nancy, and Alice(all deceased).

She is survived by her three children: Richard(Karen) Wunderlin of Raleigh North Carolina, Edwin(Mary) and David(Dawn) Wunderlin of Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was preceeded in death by son Gary Wunderlin, and grandson Kasey Tucker-Wunderlin. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Michelle(Brian) Johnson, Stephen Wunderlin, Stephanie(Jason) Morris; Gary Jr. and Andy Wunderlin, Robbie Edick; Jason Wunderlin. Additionally she had four great-grandchildren; Cayden and Brian Johnson; Cameron and Emma Morris.

Marie was a very strong woman, whose primary goal was seeing her children advance themselves in any endeavor they worked in. Whether it be mechanics, construction, transportation or education her sole message to them was: “…always give yourselves options in life.”

She was a very progressive, strong family oriented woman; having been educated and receiving her MA degree from Western Michigan University in June of 1985 in Psychology. Working for many people related agencies; her career began with the State of Michigan, State Hospital; she was a medical secretary for fifteen years working in the fields of physical therapy, orthopedics and home health care while attending school for her MA.

She has been born up in the “arms of an angel,” after a ten year battle with Alzheimer’s.

A Celebration of Marie’s Life will be held at a later date at Kalamazoo Missionary Church. Once arrangements have been made and they will be posted on David Wunderlin’s Facebook.
