Marian Zuidema

Zuidema, Marian Marian Martha Zuidema, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on January 8, 2021. Marian was born in Beecher, Illinois on January 17, 1926 to Ralph and Freda Dykehouse, and graduated from Central High School in 1944. She was the youngest of six children all of whom have preceded her in death. Marian was married for 72 years to the love of her life, Jacob Zuidema. Together they had four dearly loved children, in-laws, nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, five great- great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.Marian was the Superintendent of the Plainwell High School lunch programs, before retiring after 17 years in a job she truly loved. Her church membership was at Hope Reformed, where she faithfully attended when she was able. Marian was preceded in death by her husband. son Bill, his wife Linda, and her daughter Judy. She leaves behind her son Ralph and Priscilla Zuidema, Jack and Joanne Zuidema, and son in-law Dennis Gaulden. Due to Covid there will be no visitation. A private service will be held with a memorial to follow at a later date officiated by Pastor Keven Sanders of Hope Reformed.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan and Hope Reformed Church, Kalamazoo, MI.The family would like to thank Hospice for the compassionate care they showed to Marian, and to Amy Vlietstra for her help and kindness in caring for Marian.
