Marguerite Louise Blair, age 98, departed on September 14, 2013 to be with Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior, whom she loved and faithfully served. Marguerite was born January 31, 1915 to Carl and Grace (Ingeborg) Carlson of Chicago, IL. She graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1938, where she met her future husband, Orla O. Blair. Marguerite received her RN degree at Swedish Covenant Hospital, graduating in 1941. She and Orla were married on September 20, 1941, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2009. They served the Evangelical Free Church in Sioux Falls, SD, for three years before departing for Zimbabwe, Africa where they served as missionaries with the Evangelical Alliance Mission for 30 years. They were longtime members of Calvary Bible Church. They were blessed with four surviving children, David (Stephanie) Blair of Galesburg; Bonnalyn (Richard) Martinson of Richland, Janice (Steve) Gerali of Rancho Cucomonga, CA and Charlene (Dann) Spader of Louisville, KY; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. on Monday, September 23rd from 5-8 PM and a Celebration of Marguerite's life at Calvary Bible Church, 855 S. Drake Rd. on Tuesday, September 24th at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Evangelical Alliance Mission, Karanda Mission Hospital, in Zimbabwe in care of Box 969, Wheaton, IL 60187.
