Margaret Wolthuis

Margaret G. "Maggie" Wolthuis, age 94, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Monday evening, September 26, 2016. Maggie was born May 21, 1922 in Kalamazoo the daughter of the late Ivan and Helen (Lenting) VanHaaften and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. She was a lifelong member of Bethany Reformed Church and worked at the Junior Miss Shop in Milwood for several years. Maggie was a fun-loving person and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed music and watching sports. On December 10, 1941 she was united in marriage to her loving husband Matthew Wolthuis who preceded her in death on November 9, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her son Ron; and a grand-daughter, Erin Powell. Maggie is survived by her daughters, Carol Ann (Donald) Zomer, Lynn Powell; 7 grandchildren, Steven (Corinne) Wolthuis, Ann (Joe) Cox, Kara Zomer, Brenda (Chad) Borden, Donald Zomer, Jennifer (James) Brylowski, Joseph (Heidi) Powell, and Erin Powell; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or services. A private interment will be held at a later date in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
