Malnight, Margaret 3/28/1925 - 3/23/2019 Portage Passed away March 23, 2019. Margaret was born in Sparta, WI on March 28, 1925, the daughter of Everett and Margaret E. (Kelly) James. She was born and raised in Wisconsin, where she met the love of her life while working at a camp for German POWs. Together she and her late husband Robert owned Malnight's Bakery. She was a longtime member of St. Augustine Cathedral. She deeply loved her children and could found always be found watching them at science fairs, plays, and sporting events. Holidays were always special, and the attendance grew from the original 8 children to over 30 once extended families joined the mix. In-laws quickly became inseparable parts of her family. She always made everyone feel very welcome and no-one ever went away hungry. She was always involved in the family bakery, delivering everything from wedding cakes to sub buns. All of the children and grandchildren got their chances to deliver along with her as the work never stopped her from babysitting. She had always been an avid reader and the gaps between deliveries allowed her plentiful time in bookstores. Born and raised in Wisconsin, she was a huge fan of the UW Badgers and the Green Bay Packers. Living for over 70 years in Michigan made her a Wolverine fan but she never quite warmed up to the Lions. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Robert Malnight on Nov. 16, 2011, Son: Bill, Granddaughters: Jamie, Peggy and Caitlyn and Daughter in Law Stephanie. She is survived by Children: James K. Malnight of WI, Patricia Ann (Keith) Andrews of Galax, VA, Margaret J. Malnight of Kalamazoo, Mary Carol (Paul) Honeysett of Portage, Robert T.
