Margaret Deem

Deem, Margaret V. Portage Passed away Wednesday November 23, 2016 at home. Margaret was born March 28, 1918 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Frank and Lida (McGregor) Poole. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and was active in the choir. Margaret formerly employed by Bronson & Borgess Hospitals, Gibson Guitar and was a volunteer for Portage Library. In 1937 Margaret was united in marriage in Kalamazoo to Clair Deem who preceded her in death in 1976, also preceding her is death was a daughter, Margaret (John) Koster; four brothers. Surviving is a son, Thomas (Judy) Deem of Portage; granddaughter, Jeanne (Mark) Friedman; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin & Rosella. Friends are being received 5-8 pm on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Monday at St. Monica Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica's Church, Loaves & Fishes or Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
