With her loving family by her side, Marcia Ann Paar, age 71, passed away early Thursday morning December 14, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. Marcia was born in Racine on July 6, 1946, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (nee: Grabowski) Venturini.

She was a proud graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1964”. On June 15, 1968, Marcia was united in marriage to Donald L. Paar. She received a Certified Travel Consultant degree and became the first CTC in the Racine area. Marcia owned and operated Ultimate Travel for many years. She was a member of Vittoria Colonna Lodge. She was always very involved in her children’s activities. When she was not working or raising her family, Marcia enjoyed traveling, dancing, gardening, cooking, and reading. Above all, Marcia will be best remembered for her strong will and determination, her sense of humor, and her great love and devotion to her family.

Marcia will be dearly missed by her husband of nearly fifty years, Don; children, Joel (Laurie) Paar, Andrew (Christie) Paar, Janna Coca (Marco) Gruchalski; grandchildren, Maddie, Grace, Nolan, Shea, Kennedy, Sam, Lucy, Maverick and Liz; sister, Sandra Venturini McCall; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob Kiernan, Tom (Sharon) Paar, Michael (Donna) Paar, (also best friend) Pat Paar; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Marcia was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph “Buddy” Venturini, sister, Connie Kiernan and brothers-in-law, Gilly and Samuel Paar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie Street, on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (Vittoria Colonna service at 6:00 p.m.) and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to St. Catherine’s High School, St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the family for a memorial to be established later have been suggested.
