Age 61, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2018, at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo after a massive and unexpected stroke. Always at the ready with a kind word, a helpful hand, a cold beer or sound advice; our beloved Lynne was one of a kind. Our Small Engine Goddess had an uncanny ability to fix literally anything from log-splitters to chainsaws. She would show up to mow, paint, repair, split wood or anything else anyone might need; never asking for anything but a smile. As a licensed contractor, Lynne worked for Rutland and Hope Townships as their Building Inspector for 16 years. She ran her own remodeling business aptly named Heart of Home. Lynne was a resident of Michigan for 34 years and considered it home. She was originally from Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She had the heart of a lioness, and was always generous to family, friends and strangers. Lynne loved being in nature and would sit on her swing each evening at sunset, overlooking the lake giving gratitude for the day. She was devoted to her dog Willow, her cat Digit and numerous close friends. She loved the water, being on her pontoon and fishing. Lynne was an avid rock-hound stuffing them in her pockets with regularity and arranging them in baskets and shelves throughout her home. Lynne is survived by her brothers: Randy, twin Leigh and Mark, along with their wives Sharlene, Mary and Michelle. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews: Nikki, Mathew, Sara, Kelly (goddaughter), Stacy, Christopher, Andrew and Brandon along with a great niece and nephew: Isla and Archer. Lynne is preceded in death by her parents Leslie Allen Serfling and Joanette May Serfling (Kaczor) of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. In addition Lynne had special friends: John Reimanis and Kathy Sullivan, Kim Sanwald and Valerie Lane, Cindy Mayo, Jelania Hale, Deb Rose, Judy Panse and Jennifer Plumb. Visitation will be Monday June 4, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and funeral service on June 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Williams-Gores Funeral Home, 133 E Orchard Street, Delton MI 49046, Reverend Rachel Lonberg officiating. Memorial contributions to Barry County Animal Shelter or Kairos Dwelling are greatly appreciated.
