Miller, Lynne Kalamazoo formerly of Shelbyville Age 74, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Lynne was born in Springfield, Ohio on September 27, 1946, the daughter of the late Donald and Mildred (Foss) Nightengale. She attended Michigan State and earned her bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University. Lynne was employed for 27 years as a social worker in Allegan County. She enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling. Lynne also loved rooting for her MSU Spartans and WMU Broncos. She volunteered for her local food bank and was a member of Frederick Meijer Gardens and the Vesterheim Museum of Norwegian-American History located in Decorah, Iowa. Lynne had an affinity for whales and enjoyed filling empty spaces in her home with whale pieces she collected. On April 15, 1967, she was united in marriage to Richard A. Miller who survives. She is also survived by brothers, Scott (Claudia) and Don (Sylvia) Nightengale; brother in-law, David (Mary Kay) Miller; sisters in-law, Mary (Roger) Merren and Betty Sue Vandyke; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will share memories of Lynne at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Heritage Community of Kalamazoo, a favorite charity or local food bank of one's choice.
