Luella Upson

Age 102, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 in Kalamazoo, MI. Luella was born May 3, 1915 in Oswego, IL, the daughter of Roy and Estella (Johnson) Bargo. She has been a longtime Portage area resident and was employed for 32 years with Georgia Pacific. She attended the Lake Center Bible Church. Luella was preceded in death by her two husbands, Russell Allen in 1972 and Dale Upson in 1995; by three brothers Edward, Leroy, Ralph; by three sisters Ruth, Edna, Ethel. Surviving are her nieces and nephews Jean Gustafson, Cheri (Mick) Bouchard, Evelyn Blain, Phyllis Lanz, Roger (Joan) Bargo, Ron (Elvine) Hoogakker, John (Donna) Bargo; grand nieces and nephews Robin (Jon) Tullock, Robert (Rebecca) Gustafson, Tami (Mike) Ziegler, Renee (Cody) Flagg, Jeff Bouchard; step-son David (LuAnne) Upson; step-grandson Joshua Upson; and many other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00PM on Tuesday, September 19th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, September 20th at the Portage Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
