SCHAFER - Lucille M. Schafer, aged 86, of Wyoming, went to be with Jesus on Friday, June 5, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, infant son, Leonard, and grandson, Douglas. Surviving are her sons, John and Palma Schafer, Michael and Diane Schafer; her daughters, Suzanne and Steve Davis, Nancy and Gary Rookus, Sally and Ernest Bagge; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1630 Godfrey Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Fr. Stephen Dudek Celebrant. Interment Washington Park Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive where a Vigil Service will follow at 8:30 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the National Marfan Foundation.
