Louise Dorothy Weeden, age 97, of Paw Paw, MI passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Paw Paw. Louise was born May 16, 1920 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Henry and Marie (Keitzman) Meida. Louise was co-owner of the Hartford Shopping Center in Hartford with her husband Merritt. After retiring in 1973, they moved to Florida. Merritt passed away in 1984 and in 1998, Louise moved to Paw Paw, where she spent her remaining days with her daughter, Barbara. Louise was a member of the Paw Paw Seventh Day Adventist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, doing crafts of all kinds, swimming, bicycling and reading, however, her most enjoyable times were those moments spent with her children and grandchildren. Louise is survived by her children; Lee (Dorla) Weeden of Jenks, Oklahoma, William (Marjorie) Weeden of Hartford, Merry Lou Link and Barbara Carpenter both of Paw Paw and Janyce Mack of Kalamazoo. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; Kathy Parker-Hammond, Karen Parks, Steven Weeden, Timothy Weeden, Judy Weeden, David Weeden, Susan Esmond, Charles Weeden, William D. Weeden Jr., Sandra Newman, Rhiannon Mack-Diaz, Misty Hill, Jason Weeden and Jeffery Weeden, many great grandchildren, a few great great grand children and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides her husband Merritt, Louise was preceded in death by her children; Fred and Thomas Weeden, her parents and her siblings; Ruth Lattie, Elfriede Gay, Bill Meida and Helen Meida. The family will welcome friends from 1 to 3 P.M.; Thursday, October 12 at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, where a celebration of life service to honor Louise's memory will commence at 3 P.M. with Pastor Michael Taylor officiating. Louise will be laid to rest next to her husband at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Southwest Michigan Hospice.
