Louis P. Schmidt, aged 89 of Grand Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Schmidt; his sister and brothers, Rosanne (Roger) Stander, John (Elizabeth) Schmidt, Joseph (Marcella) Schmidt, and Frank (Virginia) Schmidt. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Louis was a veteran who served in the US Navy during World War II. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 6 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the Mass begins at 11:00, with the rosary prayed at 10:15 AM.
