Passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence on August 06, 2019 at the age of 89. Lorraine was born on July 30, 1930 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Frank Stoklosa and Catherine (Chytla) Stoklosa. On September 24, 1949, she was united in marriage to Eugene Howe. Throughout her long and well lived life, Lorraine, known as Lori to her friends, enjoyed listening to music and dancing with her beloved husband, Gene; swimming; growing flowers of all kinds especially violets and roses; bird watching; making various crafts involving knitting/crocheting/sewing; cooking and baking. Lorraine was especially known for her homemade pies which were second to none. Lorraine's most important part of her life was the love for her family, especially her children. She expressed her love to her family with using her creative skills to provide homemade healthy meals, clothes that she made, activities to nourish the mind and souls of her children, the importance of moving forward in life and not letting life's disappointments interfere with daily living; all bundled in a profound sense of humor. Even when she went through the most difficult times in life, including near the end of her life, she did so with a tenaciousness and a perseverance in pursuit of solutions rather than complain about the problem at hand. She was a true- life warrior. Surviving are her loving husband of 70 years, Eugene Howe; her brother, Frank Stoklosa; daughters Diane Steeg (Glenn), Debbie Naylor and Darlene Howe; her grandchildren, Kari Ferrell, Justin (Katherine) Ferrell, Krista Stapleton (Jamie), Billy Naylor, Mandy Naylor and Anthony Ybarra; her great grandchildren, Josh, Kaylee, Jake, Jeremy, Landon, Ruth,Patrick, David and Gabriel; as well as many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by: father, Frank Stoklosa; mother, Catherine Stoklosa; her brother, Richard "Richie" Stoklosa; and her son, David Howe. On August 17, 2019, Lorraine was peacefully laid to rest in Fish Cemetery in Covert, MI surrounded by her loving family with Rev. James Dyke officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lorraine's memory may be sent to American Cancer Society.
