Lorraine Eby

Lorraine Eby 78 of Traverse City passed away on December 30, 2013. She was born on June 22, 1935 to John and Lillian (Colon) Mikowski in Leland Twp, Leelanau County.

Lorraine is survived by her sons, Joseph Eby of Interlochen and John Eby of San Francisco; brother, Clayton Mikowski of Traverse City and granddaughters, Meagan and Rachael.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Eby on March 15, 1993; her parents and sisters, Connie DeVito and Maxine Makowski both from Traverse City.

Lorraine was a lifetime resident of the Traverse City area and enjoyed summer days at the beach with family and friends, boating on the local lakes and attending the Cherry Festival. She also loved playing cards, bingo and slot machines. A country music fan all of her life. She enjoyed live shows from visiting artists.

Lorraine worked at Chef Pierre/Sara Lee for 30 years, at one point becoming the #1 in seniority. She attended the annual retirees party in 2013.

Memorial Services will be held 4pm, Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City with Rev. Fr. Jim Hayden, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following from 4:30 pm to 7pm. Burial will be in the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Munson Regional Healthcare Foundation, 1150 Medical Campus Dr., Traverse City, MI 49684; please designate the Women's Cancer Fund.
