Loma Beck

Loma Lee Beck, age 88, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Kairos Dwelling. Age 88. Loma was born in Corning, Arkansas on October 8, 1928, the daughter of the late James and Ruby (Collins) Stephens. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1946. She worked for Michigan Bell Telephone, retiring after 31 years of service. She liked to travel and spent many winters in Florida and Arizona. She enjoyed oil painting and porcelain china painting. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church. She belonged to Telephone Pioneers. Loma is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Jerome Beck; children, Sharon (Ken) Klopfenstein, Stephen Largent and Robin Largent; grandchildren, Craig (Deedra) Triezenberg, Keith (Judy) Triezenberg, Jesse Largent, Sierra (Ryan) Miller and Robin Largent; great-grandchildren, Tori Triezenberg, Maci Triezenberg, Kara Triezenberg, Kenzy Triezenberg, Spencer Largent and Abigail Miller; and her brother, Bill Stephens. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Largent; and her brother, Jim Stephens. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23rd at Berean Baptist Church, 7813 S. 12th St., officiated by Pastor Bill Abernathy and Pastor Steve Nichols. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Interment will follow the service in Portage South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Kairos Dwelling, 2945 Gull Rd., Kalamazoo, MI 49048 or to Berean Baptist Church.
