Passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 11, 2017. She was born in Oak Park, IL on October 12, 1927, the daughter of Harry and Evangeline (Anderson) Peterson. Lois moved with her parents to Wheaton, Illinois after WWII, later graduating from Denison University in 1949, where she met and married, Richard G. Hudson Jr. in 1950, the day the Korean War broke out. Dick and Lois resided in Toledo, Ohio and Shaker Heights, Ohio for ten years until moving to Bedford Township, Michigan where Dick's work brought him for an additional 16 years and where Lois ran a cooperative nursery school. Later she was hired to head the Retired Senior Services Program (R.S.V.P.) in Bedford and later she ran a Senior Employment Program (in Bay City, Saginaw, and Midland) before she and her husband moved to the Kalamazoo area for the next 38 years. Lois specialized in the Personnel Consulting for 15 years before retiring. Lois raised three children, Jane Hudson, of Des Moines, Iowa, Richard (Kathie) Hudson, and Thomas (Barbara) Hudson, both of Kalamazoo. She has a grandson, Robert "Bo" Hudson. Lois was a charter member of the Gull Lake United Methodist Church (8640 Gull Rd, Richland, MI 49083) where a memorial service will be held after church on Sunday, June 25, 2017,(Refreshments will be served at 11:00 a.m. and the memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon), approximately 70 years after she met Dick. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Gull Lake United Methodist Church or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
