Passed away peacefully at his residence Tuesday morning August 15, 2017. Lloyd "Bud" Kraft Jr. was born February 7, 1951 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The son of Lloyd and Beth (Peabody) Kraft Sr. Bud graduated from Comstock High School and WMU with degrees in Social Work and Business. Bud worked for the City of Kalamazoo and later he was employed by the State of Michigan in Lansing for 28 years before retiring. In retirement, he built a home in Ludington, MI on Hamlin Lake. Bud was a competitive archer who went on to win a national championship. He also loved hunting and enjoyed spending time on his pontoon and flying kites. Bud's favorite place was behind the helm, cruising the Hamlin Lake with his family. Bud was preceded in death by his parents. On August 24, 1974, he was united in marriage to Sheri L. (Lane) Kraft who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, Joshua Kraft of Lansing, MI and MacKenzie (Stephen) Skalski of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren, Lucas and Jolieanna; 2 sisters, Patricia (Vilnis) Sulcs of Vicksburg and Sandra Bonnar of Kalamazoo; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A private memorial gathering was held at the Kalamazoo Beacon Club. Private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
