Lila May Evans, 80, of Alpena, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011, at home.

Lila was born February 20, 1931 to Clarence and Rosella (Lytle) McKay. Lila was a loving mother who will be remembered for her devotion to her children. Some of Lila’s enjoyments included painting crocheting, singing, baking and camping or “gramping” as it was known to others.

Lila leaves behind eight children; Willis “Sonny” (Maureen) Evans Jr. of Alpena, Monica Klein of Bay City, Denise (Fred) Werda of Alpena, Susan (Michael) Leavseley of Alpena, Linda Evans of Alpena, Clarence Evans of Alpena, Shelby (Ron) Headley of Alpena, Margo Evans of Alpena; seven grandchildren; Arthur (Michell) Klein, Patrick Werda, Jennifer and Amy Headley, Charity (Michael) Wolbers, Tanashewa Evans, Mickie Oulette; one great-grandson; Garrett Wolbers. She is preceded by three children; Dennis, Tommy and Eddia, two sisters and two brothers; Elanor, Neil, Wilifred and Gladys.

Visitation for Lila will be at McWilliams Funeral Home on today from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday at 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Arthur Fournier officiating.
