Leonard Schelb

Leonard A. III "Lenny" Schelb, age 35, of Grand Rapids formerly of Galesburg, passed away on Tuesday July 5, 2016. He was born on October 19, 1980 in Grand Rapids, the son of Leonard II and Kimberly (Grimm) Schelb. Lenny was a 1999 graduate of Galesburg/Augusta High School. He was the Technical Director for Grand Rapids Ballet and a member of IATSE Local 26. Lenny was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed kayaking, camping, fishing, and repelling. Surviving are his son, Thomas Hester of Florida; fiance: Holly Bartman of Grand Rapids; mother: Kimberly (John) Enders of Galesburg; father: Leonard Schelb II of Galesburg; sister: Andrea (Mike) Jeanette of Galesburg; three nieces: KayLeigh, Emma and Aubrey; nephew: Michael; great-grandmother: Kay VanDis of Kalamazoo; two aunts: Rhonda (James) Pack of Comstock, and Deborah (Dale) Johnson of AZ; great-aunt, Michele McLaughlin of Kalamazoo; and several cousins and friends that will miss him dearly. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek Street. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 9, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
