Leonard "Lenny, Len" Jarosz

Len was born August 13, 1933 in Racine to Paul and Lucille (Boivin) Jarosz and died on November 22, 2016, surrounded by his wife of 58 years and family.

He was a 1952 graduate of St. Catherine’s High School and earned an Associate degree in engineering from Gateway Technical Institute, graduating first in his class. In the Army, he was part of the Signal Corp. and was honored to be picked to play on the Army All Stars football team. He married the love of his life, Carol Strelka, on October 18, 1958 at Holy Name Catholic Church.

He was a man of many talents who actively volunteered all of his life including at Holy Name and St. Patrick’s Catholic Churches in Racine. After 32 years at American Motors, he and Carol retired to Middle Inlet, WI where he continued his life of service to others. Len was always ready to lend a hand to church, friends, family, neighbors and even strangers. Len enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, sports, gardening, food and “gabbing”.

Len was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Robert and Harry; and sister, Helen Velez. Survived by: wife, Carol; daughters Michele (Thomas) Battle, and Kathy (Scot) Krause; son Robert (Kris); and 7 grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 2, 2016 at St. Agnes in Amberg, WI. Fr. Richard Molter will officiate a Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Maresh-Meredith and Acklam Funeral Home in Racine. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Len’s name to St. Catherine’s High School of Racine, St. Agnes Catholic Church of Amberg, Unity Hospice or New Life of Crivitz.
