Leonard Forbes

Leonard Forbes, age 84, of Schoolcraft, MI died Sunday evening October 29, 2017. Leonard was born June 9, 1933 in Flint, Michigan the son of Edmund and Annie (Kennedy) Forbes. Years ago, he served honorably with the U.S. Navy and was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. In 1958, Leonard married Doris Maidment, who preceded him in death in April of 2017. They had been Kalamazoo residents for 15 years and were residents of Naples Florida for many years as well. Leonard was employed with Buick Motors for 30 years, retiring early to spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Edmund "Alan" Forbes and special friends Gordon and Vivian Short. Leonard was a loving Father to Cynthia (Steve) Schiebel of Portage, Michigan, and Grandfather to Kara Schiebel of Nashville, Tennessee, Ryan (Kasey Watson) Schiebel of Everett, Washington and Shane Schiebel of Portage, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:30 Friday, November 3rd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be 10-11:30 at the chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. Leonard's legacy will live on through his grandchildren who he adored.
