Leona (Lee) Majestic, wife of Phillip Majestic of Irons, Michigan passed away at Culver Meadows Nursing Home in Traverse City on Sunday, August 2, 2015.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on December 12, 1925 to John and Elizabeth Eppers, she graduated from St. David’s Catholic School at the age of 16.Soon after she began working for Michigan Bell as a telephone operator and retired after 28 years. During WWll, Leona provided support to the troops and our country while working with the American Women’s Voluntary Services (AWVS), selling war bonds and helping in the war effort wherever she could.

In retirement, Leona and Phillip settled in Irons, Michigan. They enjoyed traveling in their Airstream trailer, spending winters in Texas and in Florida. She love to crochet and made a countless number of afghans for loved ones and friends. Leona was always involved with her Catholic church. A member of the Alter Society and the choir, she always participated in bake sales and like projects. She mastered the art of cooking comfort food and was an expert in baking delicious pasties for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Eppers and by her very much loved daughter Lori Ann Majestic. Surviving is her husband Phillip Majestic, her son Brian Majestic and his wife Brenda of Lake Ann, and long lost son David Majestic. Also surviving is her brothers Leonard Eppers of Freesoil, Lawrence Eppers of Sarasota, Fl., and her best friend of 70 years, Clara Smith of Harbor Beach, Mi.

Funeral Mass will take place at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Traverse City at 11: 00 AM on Wednesday, August 5th. The family will greet friends starting at 10am. A luncheon will follow the service at her son’s home in Lake Ann.
