Leona Lucas

Leona R. Lucas of Battle Creek, MI went to be with her Lord, Monday, September 5, 2016 at the age of 62. Leona was born February 21, 1954 in Kalamazoo, adopted by the late Thomas and Madeline (Medema) Lucas. After graduating high school, Leona went on to earn her Associate's Degree from Kellogg Community College. She was a member of Covenant Hope Church in Battle Creek where she served and worshiped. Leona is greatly loved and will be missed. Leona is survived by her brothers, Phillip (Voni) Lucas and Robert (Linda) Lucas; and several nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends on Saturday, September 17th from 10-11:00am at Covenant Hope Church, 1021 Wagner Dr., Battle Creek, MI 49017, where a memorial service will begin at 11:00am, officiated by Rev. Roger Grandia. A luncheon will immediately follow the memorial service. The family is being served by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Memorials in Leona's name may be directed to the church.
