Leo Alves

Alves, Leo 8/1/1927 - 6/11/2021 Irons, Michigan Leo Alves, Age 93 of Irons died June 11, 2021 at his home. He was born on August 1, 1927 in North Westport, Massachusetts the son of the late Antone P. & Vicencia (Arruda) Alves. He attended Espirito Santo School in Fall River, MA and served in both the United States Army & Navy. He married Isabelle Jillson on November 6, 1953 in Angola, Indiana. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2008. He retired on November 27, 1987 after a 24 year career driving truck for Holland Motor Express. He is survived by one son; Roger (Marilyn) Roman of Irons, a daughter; Lisa Marie Alves of Kalamazoo, 7 grandchildren, one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a daughter; Loralee Allen. Memorial Services and Military Honors will be held Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee.
