Lawrence McKay Sr.

Lawrence William McKay Sr. age 89 of Grand Rapids, passed away May 2, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Edna; their children Lawrence & Kristin McKay Jr., and Lorna Matzen; grandchildren Lawrence McKay III, Katie & Seth Miller, Meredith McKay, Larry & Amy Matzen, Laura & Craig Bergman; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Jennette Veltman, Leonard Van't Hof and Mina Van't Hof as well as several nieces and nephews. Lawrence was preceded in death by his brother, John Van't Hof, and by his sisters, May VanderMale and Mary Reinveldt. After serving in the United States Coast Guard during World War II, Larry graduated from Indiana Tech and worked his entire career for General Motors as a mechanical engineer. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 5 at 11 AM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home - Van't Hof Chapel, 851 Leonard NW where friends may visit with his family from 9:30 AM until the service.
