Laurie K. Tobias, age 54, died Monday, September 7th, after a forty year struggle with Crohn’s Disease. She is survived by her daughter Sterling, who has been the source of her comfort, strength, pride and joy.

Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a future time. Laurie’s family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Munson who have cared for her all these years- Thank you.

I have never prepared myself for this, or how to share it with others. One of the most unbelievable parts of it is that it somehow often feels like it isn’t real.

On September 7th, my Mother passed away. I am just so thankful that I was with her and she was not alone. I know that she felt all of my love and gratitude.

I find as much comfort as I can in knowing she will no longer be ill; feel any more pain or sadness. She had a very strong heart and loved me immensely. She supported me and praised me for every decision I ever made, and everything I’ve ever done. So much of the good in my life comes from how she raised me and the values she instilled in me. She will forever be in my heart and I will always remember our happy memories together, her incredible strength and her genuine kindness.

I do know she is at peace, in a better place.

Always and forever.
