Laurice Lambdin

Lambdin, Laurice 7/23/1927 - 2/5/2016 Sturgis and formerly of Kalamazoo Laurice Jean Lambdin age 88 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Friday afternoon February 5, 2016 at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis. She was born July 23, 1927 in Osceola, Indiana daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Schieber) Scantlen. Mrs. Lambdin resided in Sturgis since 1985 coming from Kalamazoo where she lived for many years. On June 25, 1950 she married Omar Lambdin in Bellaire, Michigan. He died September 3, 1983. Mrs. Lambdin was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene and an active volunteer at the Sturgis Hospital where she was a member of the Escort, Coffee and Tray Guilds. She also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Lambdin is survived by two sons: Mark (Millie) Lambdin of Riverview, Florida and Brian (Cherryl) Lambdin of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren: Jesse Lambdin, Gail Towne, Sydney Lambdin and Carly Lambdin; one brother: Raymond Scantlen of LaGrange, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and three brothers. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene, 70031 S. Lakeview Street in Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Laurice J. Lambdin will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church. The Rev. John Shoup will officiate. Interment will take place at Mt. Ever Rest Cemetery in Kalamazoo. The committal will take place in the cemetery chapel at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday.
