Kimberly departed from this earth Saturday, May 18, 2019 to be welcomed by many in heaven with her new glorified body, free from cancer. Kim was born November 25, 1964 in Kalamazoo, MI a daughter of Richard and Betty (Kiel) Hoorn. Kim was preceded in death by her father. She married the love of her life, Paul A. Havenaar who survives. Also surviving are their boys, Tyler, Jared and Ben Havenaar, all of Kalamazoo; her mother, Betty; sisters Vicki (Kary) Christianson of Kalamazoo and Dawn Klinkers and Dawn's friend, Mark Kloosterman of Kalamazoo; and her brother, Steve Hoorn of California. Kim worked for The Upjohn Company until her first child was born. Her commitment to her family was her number one priority. Kim went on to become the finance administrator in the family business, Sign Impressions, working from home or at the business depending again on the needs of her children. This flexibility gave her the luxury of going to school events or wherever she was needed. Kim loved being a mom. She loved to be involved in whatever her boys were a part of. She especially loved cheering them on in whatever sporting event they played. Kim loved to travel, especially her trips to Lake Leelanau and the Manni family cottage in Ludington. Kim was a shopper and loved to shop with her mother, sisters and friends. Kim has been an inspiration to many people through her nine year battle with cancer. She never gave up and fought until she had no energy left. And even then, her battle cry was "Either Way, I Win!!" We pray this to be your battle cry throughout life that only comes through life in Jesus Christ. Cremation has taken place. Kimberly's family will receive guests 5 to 8pm Wednesday, May 22nd at Northpoint Church, 571 North 10th Street in Plainwell, where a celebration of life service will be held Thursday, May 23rd, at 1pm with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dar VanderWal will officiate. Please visit Kimberly's webpage for directions, online guest book or to leave a condolence. www.langelands.com
