Kenneth Treur

Treur, Kenneth J. 5/7/1948 - 12/28/2016 Kalamazoo Our beloved brother and uncle, Ken, went home to be with his Lord on December 28, 2016. He was the son of the late Abraham and Johanna (Veldkamp) Treur. He is survived by four siblings, Larry (Marge) Treur, Robert (Sharon) Treur, Beverly TenCate and Barbara Pawlowski; ten nieces and nephews; and many friends. During his life Ken knew what it meant to live with significant physical challenges but, with strength, faith and the love of his family, he was able to overcome the adversities. Ken lived a humble existence and cared nothing for possessions of this world. He was a faithful member of Texas Corners Bible Church. His final peace truly came from Jesus' words through Matthew 11:29 "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." He was a devoted Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings fan. His knowledge of the game and players made for great conversation. There was always laughter when it came to watching the Tigers on television with Uncle Ken. We will miss you, Ken, but we know that you have found peace and joy eternal in heaven. In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place and no services are scheduled. Memorial contributions may be given to the Texas Corners Bible Church, c/o the funeral home.
