Kenneth Dale Strabbing age 77 of Holland died Tuesday evening, March 24, 2015 at his home.

Born June 9, 1937 to Gerrit and Katherine Strabbing, Ken graduated from Holland High School in 1955 and in 1960 he entered into the U.S. Army. He was stationed at Ft. Knox, KY. and served in the Panama Canal Zone. He was also stationed at Ft. Clayton and later Ft. Amador as a specialist 4th Class clarinetist in the 79th U.S. Army Band. In 1962 he was honorably discharged and came back to Holland.

Ken was employed for over 35 years at G.E. and in 1997 became the lead custodian at Lakeview School. In 2000 he started work at Holland Supply Company and retired in 2007.

Ken was a longtime member of Trinity Reformed Church as well as First Reformed Church. He enjoyed vacations with his family, camping, hiking, music and was a model train enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his brother and brothers-in-law, Clif Strabbing, Joe Cooper and Al Vander Veen.

Ken is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol and sons, Paul and Noe”l Strabbing of Chicago, Nathan Strabbing of Holland, sisters, Joan Cooper of Holland Donna Vander Veen of Holland, brothers and sisters –in-law, Rosie Strabbing of Hudsonville, Gerald and Frances Moody of Westerville, OH., Kay and Bill Kay of Westminster, S. Carolina as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 AM at First Reformed Church, 630 State St. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery.

Friends may call on the family Sunday 4-7 at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 West 32nd St., Holland.
