Went home to be with his Lord and Savior comfortably at home surrounded by family on May 22, 2018. He was born August 23, 1943 in Racine, WI to William and Genevieve Rogan. He attended Sacred Heart School and Horlick High School. In 1963 he began a 25-year Air Force career. He earned many medals and was honored with the nomination of the Bronze Star for his work on recovering classified items from downed aircraft in Southeast Asia. While stationed at the Pentagon, he won the "1981 Outstanding Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year" award. He married Phyllis Jones of Newfoundland, Canada in 1967 and together they raised three children: Daniel of Yankton, SD, Deborah (Michael) Ransome of Hastings, MI, and David of Gobles, MI. Additionally surviving are his wife; grandson, Connor Parmenter; brother, Leonard (Debbie) of Mazomanie, WI; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ken's sister, Judy, preceded him in death in May, 2014. After his Air Force career, he earned his BS degree from Ferris State University in 1994. He was active in many parishes throughout his life and volunteered his time and talents to many organizations including as area director of the Special Olympics. While stationed in Italy, he attended the elevation ceremony of Bishops to Cardinal in 1985. He was a loving father, husband, and amazing grandfather to his only grandchild, Connor. He loved fishing and his dog, Nipper, who passed on and was waiting for him at the Rainbow bridge. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, sense of humor, giving nature, and beautiful big blue eyes. Visitation will be held at the Gobles Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com on Tuesday, May 29 from 6-8 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Jude Parish, Gobles on Wednesday morning at 11 AM. Military burial will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
