Age 88, passed away February 7, 2018 in Kalamazoo. Kenneth was born August 10, 1929 in Grand Rapids, the son of the late Aloysius and Irene (Escott) Duemler. On April 7, 1947, Kenneth married Arlene J. (Hugmeyer) Duemler. Kenneth was a longtime member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. He was employed for over 35 years and retired from A & P Food Stores. Kenneth enjoyed working on family projects and at his church until too ill to do so. However, the most important part of his life was his family and in particular all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kenneth's mother passed when he was two years old. He was heavily influenced by two strong willed aunts and a very Polish Catholic grandmother. Church, family and hard work were the lessons he took to heart and spent a lifetime demonstrating. On March 2, 2010, he was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 63 years, Arlene June Duemler. Surviving are their loving children, Irene Windover, Paul Duemler, Therese (Kevin) VanDeWoestyne, Mary Lambert, Steve (Sue) Duemler, James (Bridget) Duemler and David Duemler. His very caring grandchildren, Catherine, John (Laurie), Tina (Cory), Melissa (Jason), Angela (Brent), Kevin II, Travis (Brooke), Jennifer, Matt, Christopher, Gabriel and Nicole. His very precious great grandchildren, CJ, Jacob, Morgan, Hannah, Emma, Ryan, Taylor, Morgan, Kevin III, Luke, Conner, Peyton, Delaina, Alex, Katie, Jackie and Nick; also many other family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 12th at 11:00 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W. Centre Ave., with Father Basker Lopez, presiding. The family will receive friends at the Church on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00AM. Following the service will be a time of food and fellowship in Marion Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kenneth's memory may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center, or to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
