Kenneth Cramer, Sr.

Kenneth L. Cramer, Sr., age 85, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 1, 2017 with his family by his side. Ken was born in Lawton, Michigan on May 6, 1932, the son of the late Paul and Hazel (Wright) Cramer. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. Ken was retired from the United States Postal Service where he was a letter carrier for 28 years. On February 6, 1954, he was united in marriage to Madeline F. Protani. Ken is survived by his wife, Madeline; children, Kenneth Jr. (Kimberly), David (Julie), Mike (Cindy) and Ron Cramer; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline (Al) Hoadley and Donna Swagler; sisters-in-law, Nancy and Evelyn Cramer and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold, Milton and Earl Cramer and brother-in-law, Travis Swagler. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 12:00 PM at East Main Church of Christ, 2528 East Main St., Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
