Mrs. Kathryn "Katie" L. Trattles, age 89, of Three Rivers, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lagrange, IN., on September 3, 1928 the daughter of the late Walter "Pete" and Esther (Grate) Randol-Denison. Katie graduated from Salem Center High School in Indiana in 1946. On June 12, 1954 she was united in marriage to Mr. Elmer Trattles who preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1983. Katie and Elmer made Constantine their home in 1954 where she worked for the Kirsh Company and later for Heartland Health Care where she eventually retired. She was a member of the Three Rivers Eagles #2303 and also was a faithful member of the 9th Street Methodist Church. She loved baking and crocheting things for others. Katie had a special soul mate in Mr. Bill Mowery for over seventeen years before he passed. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer; companion Bill Mowery; three brothers, Ralph Randol, Alfred Denison, William Denison; one sister, Eunice Miller. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, two sons, John I. (Mary Ann) Trattles, of Three Rivers and Andrew J. Trattles, of Constantine, MI.; granddaughter, Katheryn Trattles; two sisters, Mary Crawford, of Orland, IN., and Judith (William) Hart, of Kendallville, IN. Several nieces and nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, September 18th, 2017 at the Hohner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19th, 2017 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Stilwell officiating. Interment will be held at Peek Cemetery.
