Kathryn Nicholas

Kathryn, J. Nicholas, age 98, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away April 11, 2017. Mrs. Nicholas was born June 9, 1918 in Kalamazoo, daughter of Frederick and Edith (Greenman) Kimmer. Kathryn was a homemaker, enjoying cooking and gardening, as well as a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She celebrated 62 years of marriage with her husband, Francis, on November 18, 2012. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Goldie Nicholas, grandchildren Hope and Joseph Nicholas, step-grandchildren Heather (Robb) Humphries and Holly (Corey) Henderson, and several nieces and nephews all of Kalamazoo. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers (Robert, Donald, Frederick, and Kenneth Kimmer), and one sister (Lucille Kimmer Hafer). Friends will be received 10:30 to 11 am Monday April 17, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St. where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am, Rev. Msgr. Michael Hazard, celebrant. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Food and fellowship will be shared at the Bennett Building parish hall immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
