Kathryn Barlam

Age 82, passed away surrounded by her family on August 8, 2019. She was born in Detroit, on January 22, 1937, the daughter of the late Frank and Lilly (Johnson) Leech. Kathryn attended Western Michigan University where she graduated with a degree in education and met her future husband, Keith N. Bartlam who she married on July 26, 1958, and who survives. She is also survived by four children, Karen (Jeff) VanDyke, Karol (Lisa) Bartlam, Kristin (Dean) Stramer, Kevin (Carrie) Bartlam; seven grandchildren, Corey (Brittany), Kelcey (Matt) and Jordan VanDyke, Maygan Stramer, Nick Johnson, Gavin and Seth Bartlam; two great-grandchildren, Chandler and Riley VanDyke; sisters-in-law, Beverly (Ken) Rearick and Diane (Gary) Jones; several nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a daughter, Kandy Bartlam. A memorial service to celebrate Kathryn's life will be held on Monday, August 12, 2019, beginning at 11:00 AM at Haven Reformed Church, 5350 N. Sprinkle Rd. Kalamazoo, MI 49004. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 one hour prior to the service.
