Kathleen Thorpe

Thorpe, Kathleen Portage, Michigan Kathleen Sue Thorpe, age 64 of Portage, passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2022. She was born on May 14, 1957, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Orville Watson, Jr. and Marilyn (Santman) Watson. Kathleen was a 1975 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She was a Document Review Specialist at PNC Bank, where she made many special friendships over numerous years. Her family includes her children: Kristina (Donovan) Strock and Corey Thorpe; her granddaughter, Harper Strock; her brother, Danny (Becky) Watson, and their children, Nikki, Linsey, and Jodi. She was preceded in death by her mom, Marilyn Watson and her sister, Julie Moore. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and especially her granddaughter. Kathy was an avid reader and spent many nights and weekends reading many books. She enjoyed exchanging recipes and cooking and sharing meals with her friends and family. Kathy always knew how to brighten up a room with smiles and she will be dearly missed. Friends may visit with her family on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM.
