Kathleen Louise Rymal, 58, of Cedar, died on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.

Kathy was born on October 4, 1957 in Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (McNeil) Rymal.

Kathy married her loving husband, Mark Cantrell on August 6, 1988 in Leland. They had two children, Anna and Stephen.

Kathy lived a life full of love; for her family, her friends, and for all of creation. She was a woman of inner integrity, one who spoke and acted out her convictions, direct, open and honest, as attested by the following which hung in her home: “Think before you Speak: Is it helpful? Is it necessary? Is it Kind? It it True? Is it Inspiring?”

Kathy was a personal chef. She had many interests and hobbies which included birding, gardening, hiking, camping, cross country skiing, cycling, and the love of good food. Kathy loved to travel and spend time with her family. She was a member of the Leelanau Conservancy and the North Coast Snowsports Club.

Kathy is survived by her mother, Margaret Rymal of Gainesville, FL; her husband, Mark Cantrell of Cedar; daughter, Anna Margaret Cantrell of Cedar; son, Stephen (Bethany) Cantrell, of Weaverville, CA; brother, Charles (Christine) Rymal of Ferndale; sister, Lisa (Steve) Goldstein of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren; Kamaela , Huxley, and Rowan Cantrell all of Weaverville, CA and many close family members and friends.

Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Rymal.

Private family services were held in the Green Burial Section at the Peninsula Township Cemetery, Old Mission Peninsula, Traverse City.
