Kathleen A. Orth “Kathy”, “Kay”

Kathleen A. Orth, aka “Kathy” or “Kay”, age 78, embarked on her ultimate travel on Thursday morning, May 4, 2017 at Shorelight Memory Care. Kathleen was born in Kenosha on July 19, 1938, daughter of the late Leo and Delores (nee: Lamb) Orth.

Kathy graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Kenosha “Class of 1956”, Marquette University in 1960, and received her Master’s degree from the University of Kentucky in 1968. Kay was employed as the library manager with Gateway Technical College for twenty-five years until she retired in 1993. In her spare time, Kathy would volunteer at Wheaton-Franciscan hospital. A fiercely independent and adventurous woman, Kathy loved traveling the world. Her winter travels spanned six different continents where she enjoyed researching the countries first, before she would visit and socialize with the locals while learning about their culture and religions.

Kathy will be dearly missed by her brother, Bill Orth of Chandler, AZ; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday May 24, 2017, 3:00 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be held at St. George Cemetery in Kenosha on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
