Katherine Nolan

Passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at the age of 85. Joy was born May 22, 1932 in Paducah, TX to the late J.W. and A. Ellen (Carpenter) Norris. Her family moved to Battle Creek Michigan in the 1940s. She was united in marriage to Lewis Nolan on December 24, 1949. She had four children, and work at the Kellogg manufacturing plant in Battle Creek for 22 years before buying and operating the Fulton General store in Fulton Michigan until she retired in 1993. Joy is survived by her sisters, Clara Vick of Dimmitt Texas and Naomi Bonner of Austin Texas; sons, Douglas Nolan of Bali Indonesia and Glenn (Debbie) Nolan of Milton Wisconsin, and a daughter, Glenda Wolf of Portage Michigan; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter. And numerous nephews and nieces who will always remember the kindness and caring of their loving Aunt Joy, who was always there when any of them needed her. She was preceded in death by her Parents, six brothers and sisters including her twin brother Francis Coy Norris, Her husband Lewis Nolan, a son, David Nolan and granddaughters Elizabeth Anne Nolan and Teagan Kathleen-Jee Nolan. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, July 9th at 3:00pm at Wakeshma Community Church, 16732 East UV Ave., Fulton, MI 49052.
