Surrounded by her family, Karin Lyn Rorek, age 46, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at her residence. On April 10, 1970 Karin was born to Raymond and Joan L. (Nee: Ripley) Rorek of Mt. Pleasant.

Karin was employed at RCOC, Chick-Fil-A, and most recently, at Career Industries for sixteen years. Karin was a member of Christ Church United Methodist.

Karin was very active in Racine Special Olympics for thirty-five years. She competed in Tee Ball, Bowling, Track and Field and Basketball skills. She also attended the International Games at Notre Dame in 1987. She was also in the Soap Box Derby. Karin was a true Packer, Brewer, Wrestling, and NASCAR fan.

Karin is survived by her parents, Raymond and Joan; brother, Chuck (Paula) Rorek; sister, Debra (Steven-Bucky) Albright; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Jacob) Wisniewski, Jeremy Rorek, Riley, Logan and Cadyn Albright; step-nephews, Steven (Nicole) Saavedra, and Ryan Saavedra; great-nieces, Desira Parr, Kaleb Rorek, Faith Rorek, Brady Wisniewski, Reese Saavedra, Lacey Saavedra; God Mother, Cindy Saavedra, Aunts and Uncles, Delores (Gerald) Pias, Violet Ellison, Donald (Marion) Rorek, Jack Montee, Richard Moreau, and very special friend, Jeff Anderson. She is also survived by many cousins and friends too numerous to mention. Karin was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Rorek, Lewis and Ida Ripley, Uncle Robert Ellison, Aunt Carol Montee, Aunt Donna Moreau, Scott, Nancy Montee, and her God Father, James Ellison.

A Memorial Service celebrating Karin’s life will be held Monday, March 13, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. George Kafer officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Careers Industries, Racine Special Olympics, or ones favorite charity.
