Kali McCaleb

Mrs. Kali (Dykema) McCaleb, age 24, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Grand Haven, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at The University of Michigan Heath System after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 18, 1992 in Muskegon to Tony and Cynthia (Wilkinson) Dykema. On May 15, 2015 she married Matthew McCaleb in Grand Haven. Kali was a 2010 graduate of Grand Haven High School and attended Michigan State University. She was a member of Radiant Church in Richland and a former member of First Congregational Church in Muskegon. She was an avid sports fan, especially all MSU sports. Kali loved her family and spending time with all of them, especially her special canine companion, Mosby, who was always by her side. When she could dote on her nieces and nephews, it made her day. Kali's family takes comfort in knowing that she is now pain-free and healed, rejoicing in heaven. Kali will always be the girl with the golden heart. She is survived by her husband, Matthew; her parents, Tony and Cynthia Dykema; in-laws, John and Geri McCaleb; brother and sisters: Scot Dykema, Kari (Daniel) Stranberg, Keli Dykema, Samantha Dykema; sister-in-law, Alisha (Christopher) Bakale; nieces and nephews: Addison, Gracyn, and Jackson Stranberg and Alexis and Ryan Bakale; grandparents: Raymond and Gwendolyn Wilkinson, and Mary Dykema; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Raymond Dykema. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 6, 2016 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Pastor Lee Cummings officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery.
