Julius “Juke” Banger, age 83, passed away at his home with his daughters by his side. He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend to many. Juke was a member of the Faith United Reformed Church and a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, humbly serving others only for God’s glory. He loved to spend time fishing, gardening, and being with family and friends. His laughter and sense of humor will be remembered and missed. He was born March 6, 1933, to John and Jennie Banger. He married Janet (Huttinga) Banger on May 16, 1952 and was married for 60 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet, whom he loved dearly; infant daughter, infant son, Donny; sister and brother-in-law, Angeline and William Bosma; brother, Reynold Banger.

He is survived by his daughters, Judy Leyva, Karen (Don) Weersing, Sally (Terry) VandenBrand, Laura (Curt) Bielby, and Beverly Smith; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Louise (Gerald) Ortman; sister-in-laws, Jeane Banger and Mary Jane Huttinga; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 19, 11:00 AM at Harlem Reformed Church, 6854 144th Avenue, with the Rev. Kenneth Hovingh presiding.

Burial will take place in North Holland Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue.
