Julie V. McCauley, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, February 25, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Julie was born in Sublette, Il, daughter of the late Frank and Veronica (nee: Jeanblanc) Henkel.

On May 30, 1959, Julie was united in marriage to the love of her life, J. Felix McCauley. From this union six children were born, and Julie found herself fully involved in raising a large and happy family, a role that she loved wholeheartedly. She was a faithful and active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and their Christian Mothers group. She worked for many years in the banking industry until her retirement. Julie was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan sharing that love with Felix and passing along that same love to their children. Julie blessed her family and friends with her excellent cooking and baking. Her home was always open and welcoming to their many friends and family. Above all, Julie will be best remembered for her quiet strength and beauty, caring nature and her unwavering love and devotion to her faith and family.

Julie will be dearly missed by her loving husband of fifty seven years, Felix; children, Donna (Jon) DeGroot, Ann (Tony) Barriere, Lori (Jim) Komas, David (Kim Gage) McCauley, Steven (Melanie Flynn) McCauley, Alan (Katie Baumgardt) McCauley; 14 cherished grandchildren; Max and Gabrielle Barriere; Will and Drew Komas; Patrick, Regan, Norah and Erin McCauley; Cassidy, Alanna and Miranda McCauley; and Adalyn, Clare and John McCauley; as well as her sisters, Sr. Agnes Marie O.S.F. and Frances Henkel, many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Veronica and Frank, brothers, Lawrence, Leonard (Sally) and her nephews Gene and Larry, Joseph (Mary) and her nephew Thomas; and also her sisters, Margery, Anna, Valeria, Berniece Henkel and Dorothy Hochstatter (Rich); and many other dear and close friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave, Racine, on Saturday March 4, 2017, 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Ricardo Martin and Rev. Ronald O. Crewe concelebrating. Private interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations be directed in Julie’s name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Wheaton Franciscan/Ascension Hospital in Franklin for the loving and compassionate care Julie received there during these past few weeks. She also leaves behind many friendships with the residents and staff at Franciscan Villa in South Milwaukee.
