Judith Ann (Gainsley) Zimmerman of Traverse City passed peacefully on Sept. 24, 2014.

Judy was born in Ann Arbor, MI on Sept.20, 1940 and is preceded in death by her parents, Marcella (Teninger) and Rolland (Barney) Gainsley and her brother Patrick.

Judy was the eldest of five children. Her remaining siblings, Jane (Gainsley) Mueller of Elk Rapids, MI, Stephen (Gloria) Gainsley of Honolulu, Hawaii and David (Eve Wilson) Gainsley of Ann Arbor will deeply miss her.

She is also survived by her husband of 46 years Marty, and daughters Michele (Jason) VanConant of Traverse City and Jennifer (Wade) Fulfer of Boise, Idaho.

She was blessed to watch her grandson Brandon, of Traverse City grow up and it gave her great pleasure to be a part of his life. She also leaves 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Judy had many nieces and nephews who considered her a "Wonderful Aunt" with a big heart and was warm to all of them.

Judy graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1958 and then became a Radiology Technician after completing the required training at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor

She then headed to Los Angeles, CA where after working in the Medical arena for a few years started her own Casting Company which kept her very involved in the Movie Industry until she relocated to Traverse City in 1994.

Judy's zest for life was evident by her becoming an active community member by volunteering for the Traverse City Film Festival and also working for the Horseshow by the Bay for many years.

She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cherryland Humane Society or the Father Fred Foundation.

An informal gathering for family and friends will be held 4pm to 7pm, Wed, Oct1st at Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City. Please visit Judy's webpage to sign the guest book and share a message with her family.
