Judith Richards

Passed away quietly on April 24, 2017 after an extended illness. She was born on October 20, 1939 in Kalamazoo, MI where she lived her early years, until her family moved to Sturgis, MI. She graduated from Sturgis High School and then received a degree from Ferris State University. After college she worked many years as a legal secretary and then developed and ran her own businesses. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann (Carlos) Dos Santos from Houston, TX; her brother, William (Suzanne) Richards From Yorktown, IN. Also surviving are nephew, Robert (Wendy) Richards from Yorktown, IN and niece, Kristen Wallpe from Fishers, IN; and grandnephew, Ryan Richards and grandniece, Leah Wallpe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Richards. Judy gave all who knew her a personalized loving presence. She was a remarkable woman in business, in friendship, in the way she loved her family, and in the way she lived her full and incredible life. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, May 6,2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Westwood United Methodist Church, 538 Nichols Rd. Kalamazoo, MI 49006. Following the service, the family invites everyone to join them for a reception at Henderson Castle, 100 Monroe St. Kalamazoo, MI. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Inner Light Ministries, or a charity of your choice.
