Juanita Oertel

Juanita Oertel went home on Friday, April 15, 2016 to be with her heavenly Father and all her loved ones that went before. Juanita was born to Horace and Irene (Nee: Walker) Worthy on September 30, 1926 in Winter Haven, Fl.

In 1943 she met the love of her life, Clifford Oertel, who was stationed in the Air Force in Florida, married him and then moved to Racine, WI and lived there the rest of their life. She was married to Cliff until his passing in 1999. She worked at Sentry Food Stores as a bakery manager for over 30 years. Cliff and Juanita made several trips a year to the South to visit with family.

She is survived by her two sons, Dennis (Dianne) Oertel and C. Michael (Susan) Oertel; 3 grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Acker, Melisa (Andrew) Marshall, Kurt (Jennifer) Oertel. She also leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jonathan and Alyssa Acker, Patrick and Paige Oertel; one sister, Ann Helms of Phenix City, AL; and several nieces and nephews and many friends. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff; her parents; grandson, Eric Oertel; sister, Odessa Hasty; nephew, Jimmy Tatum; numerous aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with her nephew Rev. Richard Oertel and Rev. Richard Rogers from Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have been suggested.
