Joyce Ready

Joyce A. Ready, age 82, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 after a life-long battle with multiple medical ailments. Joyce was born in Kalamazoo on July 28, 1934 to the late Dewey J. and Pearl E. (Ellard) Palmateer. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her siblings, Linda, Bob and Karen Palmateer and the father of her children, Charles Ready. She was a retiree of the James River Company. Her family was always at the center of her world and her greatest gift was the love she gave to her children, grandchildren and entire family. Joyce is survived by five children, Jacqueline Craft, Kathy Rangel, James Ready, Carrie Bertrand and Shelly Ready; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Connie (Phil) Hogenboom and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association , c/o of the funeral home.
